Kelleys island is beautiful and peaceful with nature, wildlife, Native American mounds and history. It has a small quaint town with a small museum, a few stores and restaurants.
We will embark on the 2:00pm Kelleys Island Ferry near Lakeside, beginning transportation at 1:00pm.
Once arriving on the island we will be picked up by an island taxi. We will have knowledgeable naturalist guide and birder, Pat Hayes, who will escort us to the islands secret and popular natural areas such as the Glacial Grooves, Inscription Rock and the rare Alvar habitat. After which we will have approximately 1 hour to explore the small downtown area. We will be taking the 5:30pm Ferry back in time for our evening meal. This is a short but sweet excursion to the largest of the U.S. Lake Erie Islands.
